Since graduating from RHS, I had the privilege of playing on the 1971 Vermont Shrine Football team with several of my RHS and MSJ classmates and close friends.

It was a tremendous honor and experience to represent our State and town in this regional charity sports event, especially since the Coaching staff for the Vermont team this year included Head Coach Joe Teta (RHS) and Assistant Coaches Bundsie Keefe Jr. (RHS) and Tony Zingale (MSJ).

The Vermont team posted its first win against the New Hampshire team in fifteen years in 1971, with a score of 26-14, and then Vermont went on a stretch of six victories in seven games for the Green Mountain State team from 1971-1978.

After the Shrine Game, I attended junior college for one year at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy NY, before transferring to the University of Vermont in 1972 on a football scholarship.

I graduated from UVM in 1975 with a BS degree in Biology, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF after graduating from the AFROTC program at St. Michael’s College in Winooski VT.

I served in the USAF for 22 years, as a fighter pilot and safety engineer/aircraft mishap investigator, before retiring from the Service in June 1997.

Following my military career, I worked at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Marietta GA for the next 18 years in various Safety Engineering & Airworthiness Manager positions before retiring in June 2015.

I married my wife, Jane Lavallee (RHS Class of 1969 and UVM Class of 1973), in 1981.

We were blessed with two children, Justin and Stephanie, and six grandchildren, currently ages 15 to 4. My son, Justin, and my son-in-law Brad are both currently serving their own careers in the USAF.

Since retiring from Lockheed Martin in 2015, my wife and I have been traveling extensively and I have also been keeping busy in my home workshop with my woodworking and furniture making hobby.

Jane and I recently celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary with a family reunion trip to California and Oregon, where we celebrated with our two children, their spouses and our six grandchildren.
